Frequently Asked Questions

The PDSL Mediation Training Course provides a recognised professional qualification. Successfully completing the course assessment will result in you becoming a PDSL accredited and International Mediation Institute qualified mediator. You will be able to register with both organisations as a mediator.

You will also have the opportunity to be qualified with the Civil Mediation Council (CMC) and become eligible as a CMC Associate. Under CMC guidelines, this will require you to undertake an extra assessment after the completion of the 5-day course. This will be an in-person assessment in the presence of two peers (chosen by you) who are able to assist you in a mediation role-play. The recording of the mediation role-play will be provided to PDSL for approval. This assessment will require a £50 administration fee to attend.

All of our trainers are highly experienced and regularly mediate complex disputes within their respective fields. The trainers come from varying backgrounds within mediation and the legal profession. Most of our trainers also have university lecturing experience.
