It provides the learning and accreditations necessary be able to develop your mediation practice. After completion of the course, you can proceed to receive instructions and start developing your experience and resume.
Where the state does provide some guidance on mediation training is minimum standards for mediators to qualify for various court mediation panels. These guidelines are provided in Missouri Supreme Court Rule 17. This course fulfils this criteria provided therein. You can therefore apply to your local court mediation panel to receive court referred mediations after the completion of the training (subject to you fulfilling any further local requirements).
After completing the training, you will want to firstly check with your local court for their ADR panel requirements. These requirements differ in their post-training experience criteria. For example, some panels will only accept mediators with a certain amount of mediations under their belt. You should look to fulfil these requirements through completing practicum programs or undertaking private mediations of your own. Details on how you can achieve post-training experience will be provided through a career building module during the Phoenix training course.
